Methodology

1. How will you work with allied organizations?

  • What benefits/incentives can you offer to the organizations you work with? In addition to working with their constituents, are there other benefits to partnering with these organizations?
  • How will you work with allied organizations without a base? In what ways can other allies collaborate in this work?
  • What are your expectations and/or needs from allies? What will make the relationship mutually beneficial? How will you be accountable to each other?
  • What is your exit plan? Will your work with the organization be long-term? Short-term? How will you continue to build on the relationships established?

2. What does the HFZ process look like? Give a hypothetical example of a HFZ?

  • What benchmarks do you want to meet and when? Are the benchmarks sequential? Do the benchmarks overlap?
  • Who will you work with? How many allied organizations will you work with at one time? How many constituents will you work with from the group? What are their demographics? What are the cultural norms? What issues do they organize around?
  • How will you work with the group(s)? How many days per week/month will you meet with the group? For how long?
  • What is your role? How will you measure your accomplishments?
  • Will you produce concrete tools? Who will receive these tools? How will the tools be distributed?

1. What individual roles are needed? What individual responsibilities do you want to take on? What individual roles can you take on? What skills do you need?

2. How will you make your work sustainable?

3. How can you encourage others to join your HFZ work group?

4. How will you promote your work?

5. How will you maintain group accountability?

6. How will we create a non-hierarchical, Harm Free Zone work group?
