Structure

From HarmFreeZone

We encourage those who launch a HFZ to use a consensus process for decision-making and create principles of agreement. Critical Resistance uses consensus decision-making at every level of the organization. While this process can be difficult and time-consuming, it is central to CR’s vision and principles and we feel and think that it makes for sustainable, creative and inclusive ways of working together. Decisions made by consensus allow people to feel invested in the work. We think it is crucial that all members of a community have the power to make decisions regarding their lives. We use consensus to ensure that no voices are excluded and that new ideas can come to the surface.

We also encourage groups to adopt principles of agreement as a method of identifying and expressing shared values. Principles help hold us accountable. They are a political measuring stick; they help us determine if we are working toward our collective vision. We are commmitted to a set of Vision and principles.
